BrandSLAMS: Vision Brights Pens

It’s time to bring “Marketing Joy” to the masses!  At Hasseman Marketing we pride ourselves in providing amazing promotional premiums to customers all over the United States.  And frankly, we want to provide the right product to the person for the right situation.  It’s NOT just about slinging SWAG.

That’s why we help you ask the right questions (here are 5 you should ask before your next promotion).

On the other hand, we want to be THE place you look for the best cool products for every occasion.  We want to create “Brand-Slams” for you and your organization!  (Here was the BrandSLAM from last week).

You might be asking yourself why we decided to focus on these pens this week on the BrandSLAM!  We are glad you asked!   But buckle up…because there are quite a few reasons…and they are all about ease.

First, these are easy because of the pricing.  The pricing on these awesome Vision Bright Pens is simple.  One price.  You get a full color imprint (full wrap) with no setups!  Oh…and did we mention Free Shipping too?  So, no setups and no shipping on these Vision Bright Pens!  Easy.

Second, did we mention full color?  We love the idea that you don’t have to worry about additional color charges.  Just send us your imaging (or we can help you with it) and we have a great full color image on these!

Finally, let’s talk about ease of writing!  The ever smooth ink is a hybrid between ball point and gel, so it writes so easy…and does not smudge.  Lots of great reasons for this to be a BrandSLAM!

Brand-ecdotes: Jeff Wickerham

Welcome to our awesome blog post series for Hasseman Marketing called:

“Brand-ecdotes!”

Each week we will talk to a branding all star about what makes the Promotional Product advertising media so special!

This week we talk with Jeff Wickerham!  Jeff is a rock star Account Executive at Hasseman Marketing and lends his expertise to Brand-ecdotes this week!

1.  What is your all time favorite Promotional Product and why?

The Evrybox is far and away my favorite promotional product. I work from home and stream music to it during the day, every single day. In the evenings, I use it to play background music while cooking dinner or doing dishes. During baseball season, I power it up and listen to Marty Brenneman call the Reds and Tom Hamilton call the Indians. This product makes my life better. AND…when my phone is dying from all the music I am streaming, I can use the Evrybox to power it up!

2.  Can you name a Promo Product that you have that STILL reminds you fondly of an event, person, organization?  If so, can you tell us that story?

I use multiple journals I have received over the past 4 years. The first one which comes to mind is the journal I received in 2016 at Skucon, a conference for Innovators, Explorers, and Dreamers. I keep the notes on my big dreams in it. The second journal I constantly have is one I was given at church, which is where I keep my notes on my faith.

3.  What is the current product you use all the time?

Evrybox

4.  What is an idea/product that you think organizations UNDER use?

Recognition. In our industry, we have trained the world they have to purchase 10, 50, 100 of the same items. When doing this, the individuality of a gift is lost. OrigAudio came into the game and changed that. Their minimums are 1 piece, which gives us the opportunity to individualize gifts.

5.  What do you think is the best thing about Promotional Products as an advertising media?

Other forms of media are needed, but I feel promo products are the most personal, which makes them #1. A specific product (pen, t-shirt, tumbler, etc) is given to a specific person, which makes each party involved feel good. It is a win-win!

And…that’s another awesome edition of Brand-ecdotes!  Thanks to Jeff Wickerham for taking the time to jump in!

BrandSLAMS: PopSocket

It’s time to bring “Marketing Joy” to the masses!  At Hasseman Marketing we pride ourselves in providing amazing promotional premiums to customers all over the United States.  And frankly, we want to provide the right product to the person for the right situation.  It’s NOT just about slinging SWAG.

That’s why we help you ask the right questions (here are 5 you should ask before your next promotion).

On the other hand, we want to be THE place you look for the best cool products for every occasion.  We want to create “Brand-Slams” for you and your organization!

This week the BrandSLAM is none other than the PopSocket!  What is a PopSocket, you ask?  A PopSocket sticks flat to the back of your phone, tablet or case with its reusable, repositionable gel. Once extended, the PopSocket becomes a media stand for your device, a photo or texting grip, or lower it for a video chat. The possibilities are endless with the PopSocket.

The fact is, there is NO better marketing spot for your brand than the back of your customer’s phone!  The PopSocket not only gets you there, but it does so with style.  PopSockets are super popular in retail, so customers will be excited to receive them.  They are functional.  They are fun.  And they grab prime marketing real estate for your brand!

That’s what makes this a true BrandSlam.  For more information on this item (or to order now) you can click on this link.  But if you want to discuss options or how this fits in with your other promotional campaigns, feel free to reach out to your HMC representative.  Don’t have one?  Email us here and can hook you up!

5 Lessons from My Dad

Today is my dad, Rod Hasseman’s, birthday.  So it seems appropriate to flashback to a piece of content I created about a year ago!  Take a look.  Take a listen.  Enjoy!

In the past, I have taken a look at 5 Lessons we can learn from someone in the sports, business, or entertainment world.  This week we stick with the “5 Lessons” theme but I get a little more personal.  Today we look at 5 Lessons that I learned (and you can too) from my Dad.  Listen in here.

Be a Reader: Many of you know that last year I read 50 books for business and personal development. My love and interest in reading was modeled by my dad. He was always reading and I learned early that if I wanted to be smart, I needed to read. Thank goodness for that!

Have An Open Mind:  My dad was (and is) a very intelligent guy.  But that does not mean he always feels like he knows all the answers.  He is a questioner.  He is a bit of a contrarian.  I get that from him.  In order to question opinions, including your own, you need to have an open mind.  You need to be willing to admit when you are wrong.  It’s not easy for anyone.  But Dad was willing to sit back and say “okay…that makes sense.”

Have a Sense of Humor:  One of the things I love about my dad is his laugh.  Because he has a great sense of humor, I got to hear it a lot growing up.  People love other people that make them feel good.  One of the best ways to make other feel good is to make them laugh.

Be a Good Storyteller:  Oh what a yarn he can weave!  I grew up listening to Dad tell stories.  It turns out that this is not just good for around campfires.  The best marketers and salespeople are those that tell good stories.  Remember…people buy stories, not just stats.

Be Willing To Re-Create Yourself:  After a career in business and sales, my dad hit a bit of a wall when he moved back to Ohio.  In order to make a living, he started a second career.  He went back to college to get his Master’s in teaching and started over teaching High School.  He has made the most of this 2nd career, but it’s tough to start over.  Sometimes you have to be willing to re-create yourself for a better tomorrow!

Books to Read in 2017

For the last several years, I have set a goal to read enough to change me.  Two years ago I read 50 books.  Last year I read 31.  This year I have set the goal to read 40 books.  Why?  Because “in 5 years you will be the same person, except for the people you meet and the books you read.  Simply put, it helps me (and you) grow.  Here are just a few books I have completed so far this year (with links so you can check them out yourself). Deep Work:  These rules for success in a distracted world are good reminders.  The fact is, I think most of us understand that we get more done when we are focused.  But Cal Newport fills the conjecture with studies and facts.  Get Smart:  Brian Tracy covers the basics of success principles in this short book.  There are not new ground breaking principles here, but awesome reminders about business truth. Business For Punks:  Truth be told, I really liked this one because it was about BrewDog (and I am starting a new brewery).  That being said, I enjoyed their irreverent look at how to start a business.

The Fortune Cookie Principle: Often the most profound lessons are the simplest. We each need a compelling brand story to stand out in a crowded marketplace. Bernadette Jiwa teaches us to create one. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F**k: Sorry for the language, that’s the title. If you are offended by language, I think it goes without saying you should steer clear of this one. If you are not, however, I think this has real and lasting lessons is priorities, business and life. This was one of my favorites of the year (so far). Delivering Marketing Joy:  What?  It’s my list!    As you may know, Delivering Marketing Joy was re-released this year with new material, a look and a new audio book as well.  If you want to learn how to create promotional products campaigns that pop, you might want to look at this one.  Contagious:  This one is high on my recommended list too.  Jonah Berger explains why things catch on (or go viral) and how you can work to make your idea spread as well.  This was a really good one. SCRUM:  I am excited about this one because the Hasseman Marketing team is reading this together.  It’s a great book that explains how to get more done in less time…and I think it lives up to the title.  I am anxious to continue to work with the team to implement some of the ideas here. Want to keep up all the time?  Make sure to join our VIP List!  Our VIP’s get an email with the latest content…and other special offers as well.  Join here.
